Less Is More

This was a work done for Grade 12 Art.

Looking at the social issue of anorexia, I wanted to focus more on the mental implications of anorexia, rather than the physical ones.

The nutrition label represents the woman's "thoughts" of her body.

The corset represents the desire to be thin.

Black background represents isolation.

Lots of chiaroscuro.

I am aware a similar idea exists somewhere...I was SO bummed when a friend told me, I thought it was so clever when I thought up of it myself.

Ah well, great minds think alike.
